With attention to detail and quality, we pride ourselves with our extensive knowledge of antique furniture and knowing what will last the test of time, we endeavour to introduce the same qualities with the reproduced pine as associated with the original.

The Acorn range below represents just one of our in-house companies.

Acorn furniture is designed and made by Martin Hayford-Taylor.

Pinehouse are launching a new "Acorn" range of beautiful furniture, designed for the bedroom and nursery. This new collection offers a sense of warmth and heritage, and becomes part of the long history of furniture making in this country. Acorn is a registered design patent making each piece unique to Pinehouse, you are therefore assured that there will be no imitations. The mellow colours and traditional designs featuring the carved acorn motif have been updated for modern living, giving a characteristic image of homely comfort, with which you can relax and enjoy.

The inspiration behind the Pinehouse collection is the furniture designer and maker Martin Hayford-Taylor. Martin strongly believes in Arts and Crafts principles in that furniture should be useful, honestly constructed, true to its material and yet also be beautiful. He often quotes the work of William Morris, and Ernest Gimson as being influential in his design thinking, and the very fact that he has made both his home and workshops in rural Wiltshire testify to this belief.

Having accepted the Arts and Crafts Movements philosophy, Martin is also keen to emphasise his desire to mix old with new and hence in his Warminster workshops he uses modern industrial methods with hand-crafted techniques. His staff are trained craftsmen with a great commitment to the production of quality furniture. All of this ensures that his furniture designs have a lasting legacy, and indeed could become heirlooms of the future.
